Senior User Experience Strategist

You’ll lead workshops, craft insights from research, and collaborate across teams to deliver culturally resonant, impactful solutions that bridge brand strategy and user experience.

Location: Vancouver (Full full-time in-office for first 3 to 6 months, with flexibility once settled into the role)

Your Role

As a Senior UX Strategist at Massive, you’ll lead the UX and digital strategy portion of complex brand and web projects. Acting as a strategic linchpin, you’ll bring user-centric methodologies to the forefront while ensuring a cohesive connection between brand identity and web experiences. This role combines leadership, research expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to shape impactful outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Workshop Facilitation: Lead integrated client and user workshops, addressing brand and UX considerations such as experience mapping, stakeholder interviews, and information architecture. Collaborate with Brand Strategists to align user needs with business objectives.
  • User-Centered Research: Conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research to inform brand positioning and web UX strategies. Develop insights that bridge user experience with Massive’s brand visions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, brand strategists, designers, and copywriters to craft unified solutions that enhance digital architecture, user journeys, and content flow.
  • Strategic Visioning: Shape and implement UX strategies that align with overarching brand goals, ensuring cohesive and culturally resonant results across deliverables.
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Guide and mentor junior and mid-level UX team members, fostering expertise in client-facing and consultative approaches while embedding brand-aware, user-centered methodologies.
  • Risk Management: Proactively communicate project risks to clients, ensuring clear expectations and alignment throughout all project phases.
  • Deliverable Scope Management: Support UX designers in deploying appropriately scoped approaches and deliverables that align with project budgets, timelines, and client sophistication.
  • Team Support. When the team needs support with hands-on project support, you’re able and willing to jump in to support. Supportive of the following types of leadership styles: Servant, Transformational, and Coaching leadership.

What You Bring

  • Workshop Leadership: Proven ability to design and lead client and user-facing workshops, synthesizing discussions into actionable brand and UX strategies.
  • Research Acumen: Strong proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, translating insights into impactful UX strategies that reflect brand integrity.
  • Brand-UX Expertise: In-depth understanding of the interplay between brand strategy and UX, ensuring that digital solutions are consistent with organizational objectives and user expectations.
  • Team Leadership: A track record of mentoring UX talent and fostering growth in brand-aligned, client-centered practices.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Comfortable working across diverse teams to align on objectives and ensure seamless integration of brand and UX deliverables.

Team Structure

This role leads UX efforts that often intersect with brand strategy, collaborating closely with Brand Strategists, Project Managers, and other directors to align workshop facilitation, client presentations, and deliverable integration.

Reporting Line

Reports to: Chief Creative Director
Collaborates with: Project Managers, the Creative Director, Director of Delivery, and the Director of Brand Strategy.
