The Web Excellence Awards known for showcasing the best in digital talent and creativity, provided a global stage for this year’s competition. With over 900 entries from across the world, the challenge was formidable. Our success in such a competitive field is not just a win for us, but a shared triumph with Primasun, highlighting the power of partnership in creating digital experiences that truly resonate.
When we first embarked on this project with Primasun, the vision was bold: to transform the world’s perspective on sleep. Most of us treat sleep with dismissive compliance – an annoying nightly ritual that pulls us away from work, from fun, and from life. But the truth is that sleep is foundational to health and well-being. Poor sleep is linked to an increased risk for several health issues including heart attack, stroke, and diabetes. Compounded by factors like equity, broken care pathways, stigma, and misinformation, poor sleep impacts an overwhelming majority of the population.
Primasun recognized that in order to shift the paradigm, it would need a digital experience that spoke to its audacious purpose, and encouraged people from all walks of life to re-evaluate their relationship with sleep. What makes this win so special to us is the partnership between our creative vision and Primasun’s commitment to promoting sleep health transformation. Together, we built a website that acts as a dynamic platform for awareness, education, and solutions. It was a shared mission to make a positive impact in the world of health and equity.
Our approach to the Primasun website was focused not just on aesthetic appeal or technical prowess, but on crafting a user experience that educates, engages, and inspires. It was about understanding and integrating Primasun’s values and goals into every aspect of the site. The name Primasun means “first light,” speaking to the feeling of rest after a good night’s sleep. Throughout the project, we worked to bring this same feeling to life on the website. Stylized animations referenced open blinds and light filtering in. Subtle gradient shifts promoted a sense of calm transformation, and the use of colour evoked a warm and light experience.
Part of this project’s challenge involved speaking to Primasun’s diverse audience base, and conveying a sense of differentiation amongst a sea of other sleep health organizations within the space. We wanted to showcase that Primasun was for everyone and that it offered something different to its audiences. Immersive educational experiences, bold and thought-provoking statistics, and intentional storytelling across all of the website’s pages helped us achieve this goal. The result was a digital space that not only looks polished and professional but also serves as a valuable resource for those seeking information on sleep health.
We are incredibly proud of this collaboration and the recognition it has received. Winning in the Startup, Health, and Wellness categories is a significant achievement, and it showcases our team’s ability to create digital solutions that are not only innovative but also meaningful and impactful.
